Thiaw feels Milan ‘we should have won’ vs. Dortmund but made ‘mistakes’ – video

By Oliver Fisher -

Malick Thiaw has conceded that it was not an easy first half for AC Milan against Borussia Dortmund, but feels they could have won the game on the balance of things.

Both sides will feel like they had chances to win it, with Dortmund on top in the opening 45 minutes but with Olivier Giroud and Samuel Chukwueze missing golden opportunities in each half for the Rossoneri.

Thiaw spoke to Milan TV after the game to assess the result and the performance of the team.

“It was not an easy game, especially the first half was not so easy. We had a lot of technical mistakes. If you look at the whole match I think we should have won the game, so it’s a bit tough right now because we wanted more and also if you look especially at the second half we could have done more,” he said.

“PSG? If you see their result today [4-1 against Newcastle] I think everything is possible. We have our qualities and we showed it in the two games, we just need to finish the games better. Then I think we will be even more happy after the game.

“We need to recover fast and do our best to play the best game we can in Genoa.”
