CorSera: Thiaw makes two outstanding blocks in promising Milan debut

By Oliver Fisher -

There were a couple of firsts for AC Milan against Hellas Verona last night involving two new signings who arrived in the summer.

Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes that the game at the Stadio Bentegodi was Yacine Adli’s first as a starter for Milan and then in the closing stages there was also Malick Thiaw’s debut with the Milan shirt, who arrived in the summer on a permanent deal from Schalke 04.

While Adli struggled to really assert himself in the game, the German defender ended up making two vital interventions that saved Ciprian Tatarusanu twice in the final stages of the game.

The first was a sensational block at the far post to stop a shot that seemed destined for the back on the net, and then he was again on hand to stop a ball that was goalbound from a narrow angle on the opposite side of the box.

  1. LOL, Tata’s face. Describes him perfectly. Among all the other things we need, we also need a good backup GK. Juve, Inter, Napoli, and Atalanta all have good backups.
