CorSera: Three alternatives and an ultimatum – today is decisive in the De Ketelaere saga

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not willing to wait much longer for an answer regarding the Charles De Ketelaere situation, according to a report.

As reported by Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan), the Milan management want to close the deal with Club Brugge definitively by tonight. The Belgian club know that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will wait until tomorrow at the latest before moving on to other targets.

If the answer is not positive then Milan will immediately move on to their back-up plan which is Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea. Howeve,r he is not the only target being considered as Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo) and Nicolò Zaniolo (Roma) remain in the background.

Nonetheless, there is optimism that there will be a positive outcome in the De Ketelaere talks because the player continues to push for a move to the Rossoneri and because Brugge know that they now cannot wait for a higher offer from another club. Milan have offered €33m including bonuses.

  1. I wonder what is in the head of the journalists who keep thinking that Zainolo who cost twice as much is an alternative.

  2. One says 30 Mil plus 2 mil in bonuses, the other days 32 mil plus 3 mil in bonuses and then the other says 33 Mil plus bonuses

  3. Adli is the real alternative. Aldi, Messias and Pobega are the new signings. May be someone from the likes of Empoli and relagated Cagliari, might arrive.

  4. It’s very important that we sign either U21 or grown in Italy player, otherwise we’d be forced to get rid of one existing player of the team. This is the reason behind the various Cristante, Acerbi, Zaniolo, Berardi, Scamacca, Traore, etc. CDK also works in this fashion since he is U21 for this year.

This is in addition to Bakayoko that has to leave, and another player that will probably leave in January when Ibra comes back (my money is on Diaz, but Krunic might be also).

So if there’s news talking about this or that player joining that’s not U21 or Italian, the obvious question will always be “Who’s leaving”???

If we sign a left-footed central defender, probably it will be Ballo-Toure.
If we sign a midfielder, probably it will be either Diaz or Bennacer.
Even Ziyech is being treated as AM player, and that’s why we want to get him on loan
