Until the 90th minute of their game against Cremonese, AC Milan feared going into the derby 12 points behind Inter, until a grand finale.

As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) recall this morning, as soon as the match at Cremonese ended, the Milan players had only one thing on their minds: the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday.

After the hard-fought victory in Cremona, secured thanks to goals from Strahinja Pavlovic and Rafael Leao in the final minutes of the match, the Portuguese striker himself spoke about next Sunday’s match against Inter: “It’s a matter of life or death. I ask my team-mates to take it personally.”

Pre-derby mission accomplished

The words were those of a leader, who knows full well how important a match like the derby is, given that he’s been at the club for over six years now. Even with a win, reopening the Scudetto race seems very difficult, but the derby also means so much more.

Meanwhile, yesterday’s victory against Cremonese is significant for three reasons. Firstly, it allowed the Rossoneri to consolidate second place, taking a decisive step toward securing a finish inside the Champions League places.

Secondly, it was crucial to win to put the defeat against Parma behind them and avoid the mental backlash that followed the traumatic end to their six-month unbeaten run. The third reason, however, is perhaps the most important.

Sunday’s victory boosts morale and will allow Milan to head into the clash against Inter with the right mindset. The 10-point gap in the standings between the two teams seems almost impossible to close, especially if Inter continue to win and not drop points along the way.

Despite this, beating the Nerazzurri would give the Rossoneri a huge boost to have a strong end to the season and achieve what Allegri has always been the primary goal of the season: getting back into the biggest club competition.

  1. The Scum lost to Bodø/Glimt.

How can Bodø/Glimt beat the Scum and NOBODY in Serie A can (except Milan)?

They’re not THAT good. They’re Scum and have their scum referees helping them out but they’re also coasting.

    CAN SOME BEAT THE SCUM???

  2. The scum is Marota ‼️ someone have to stop 🛑 this old scum to fix matches in Serie A, he is ruining Italian football ⚽️‼️ if Italy 🇮🇹 don’t make it to World 🌎 Cup , it’s the retribution of fixing the League by Marotta and no one is stopping him‼️Milan, Roma, Atalanta, Como must beat them and other teams hold Inter at least ( even if they can’t beat Inter) Inter won’t win Scudetto this season, Hakan will start missing penalty ❌❌
