GdS: Three things Allegri would guarantee Milan if he became head coach

Massimiliano Allegri seems increasingly likely to be named the next AC Milan head coach, but it is far from a done deal, with a new sporting director still to be named.

The decision about the next head coach will be made by Giorgio Furlani and the new sporting director. So, it is not definite that Allegri will find himself on the Milan bench. By all accounts though, it seems that he is the number one candidate.

During his most recent spell with Juventus, fans became a little frustrated with the coach due to his methods and tactics. However, the Bianconeri still ended the season with things to build upon, and a report states that similar could happen with the Rossoneri.

Gazzetta dello Sport states that if the rumours become true and Allegri finds himself back on the sideline at San Siro, the Diavolo would instantly be guaranteed a few things, or at least have a strong chance of three things.

Primarily, the head coach is a fantastic coach, and this means that the Milan dressing room could become aligned once again, with rumours throughout the year of splits and fall-outs. Then, there is the focus on young talent, something that RedBird value very highly.

Perhaps the least guaranteed is the Champions League, yet this still is a priority for the coach. During his time with the Rossoneri, he ‘always ended up in the Champions League’, and in Turin, this was the case five times too.

It is more difficult to call this a guarantee, as it is not in his control, per se. However, the stats speak for themselves, and the owners are desperate for a top-four finish every season, at the minimum.

      1. They would get fourth place with 50 goals scored in the season. They would play desperate and boring football. And as for the dressing room, ask the Juventus players what the dressing room is like 😀

  1. Honestly what would Allegri offer that Conceicao is not already offering. Same style and principles and with a full preseason under this belt and half of this season, I believe he would start next season better than Allegri.

I’m definitely not a big fan of Conceicao but I just don’t see the point in changing him for Allegri.

  2. Allegri will bring winnings to Milan. This is what Milan need for a long time. But he made one terrible mistake in the past. He did not include Inzaghi in the squad for the Champion League’s second phase. He seems not fit enough for the Champion League.

  3. Management just want a top 4 finish, that provides “stable income”.
Play UCL every year, qualify for the knockout rounds, if possible reach the round of 16. That should have generated enough money.
No intentions of winning any competition actually.
    Sad prospects.

      1. ..”and signed a new coach with half the salarary, with an option for contract termination after 6 monhts”.

Should you have continued your sentece, you would have your answer.

      2. Yess why did they sack pioli if they want top 4 finish ? Pioli salary much cheaper than allegri. This is one of the many poor Milan management,
They don’t know nothing about Italian football ⚽

  4. I don’t know why all people behave like Conceicao is already over after this season. season still not finish. don’t forget that after couple of trainings with the team he could beat Inter in Italia Supercup.
    .
it could happen again in Coppa Italia. he still could be in top of 4 or top of 5 (with guarantee for Champions League).
    .
Conceicao has got first time since long time when he could organise proper training sessions and work on few things. he came in difficult time for the team and tried to do the best.
    .
I want to say – let’s give him at least a chance.

    1. I bet the coach in your imagination plays great football, and that’s why you can insult a coach who won only Milan’s 3rd Scudetto this century.

      But football’s not about sentiment.

      It’s about…..(I don’t know watching a 9th place team eat itself).

  5. Believe so much in this present coach, he’s hot zeal , passion and a strict coach. He needs more time if yu ask me

  6. I think Sergio needs time. He already showed what he has brought and that is fighting till the end which was shown by our come back wins. He needs a full preseason with directors and owners that will have his back. I wonder what they will do should he win another trophy as well as end up in the top four. The problem is not the coach. Why should a PROFESSIONAL football player be told he needs to fight for the club that pays him millions and for the fans as well as fight for their coach. These are all grown ups but still acting like little kids. If a player doesn’t want to give his all then to hell with him as this is a profession and not amateur football. Give SG a full preseason. Why judge a coach who comes in when everything from the top to the bottom is in ruins and expect him to perform miracles. TIME TIME TIME

  7. There is 1 guaranteed outcome above all. We would then desent and remain in the mediocre domain forever. Who cares if we qualify for champions league or not when we would become boaring as hell.

I do not know in fact a luckier coach, he won Serie A with a team he did not build, he then followed Conte into Juventus that even I would win the same with those players he had nothing to do to build that team. When he finaly got asked to come back to rebuild Juve he failed miserably.

Is this what we want with Paratici and him?

  8. only certainty would be, that papers would make up positive stories instead of negative, cause obviously he is paying them to make him look good.

  9. No to expensive 7 million salary coach allegri. Management need to find cheap coach, who can get us qualify for champion league.
