CorSera: Ticket chaos again raises security issues ahead of Milan-Atalanta

There is yet more ticket-related chaos surrounding an upcoming AC Milan fixture at San Siro, this time ahead of the visit of Atalanta on Sunday.

There will be yet another fundamental match this Sunday between Milan and Atalanta which is big for both the Scudetto race and in the battle for the European spots too. After what happened in Milan-Fiorentina where Rossoneri fans bought tickets in the designated ‘away’ sector, the same seems to have happened again.

As reported by today’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan), the 4,000 tickets that were available in the away end were sold very quickly and many of the tickets available were sold to fans living in Bergamo but who support Milan.

Atalanta have a membership system called the ‘Dea Card’ but that was not required to buy tickets for this game meaning it was possible for fans to circumvent the system, thus buying tickets in the guest sector.

The intervention of the Police Headquarters was necessary when the same happened against Fiorentina as tickets in the third tier green were cancelled, so the same may happen again to avoid the risk of fan violence.
