Atletico Madrid need to sell Angel Correa in order to fund a move for James Rodriguez before the window shuts, a report claims.
Correa seems to be the priority for the Rossoneri leadership at present, with the signings of Theo Hernandez, Rade Krunic, Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer already secured.
We reported earlier in the week that Milan are optimistic over striking a deal for Correa, having already agreed personal terms with the player and just an agreement with Atletico missing.
More talks are planned for this week between the two clubs to try and reduce the €10m difference in valuations, while a report from TMW on Monday suggests that Atleti may look to force through his sale.
The LaLiga giants are dreaming of signing James Rodriguez from rivals Real Madrid as ‘the icing on the cake’ for the summer window.
His arrival, however, is entirely dependant on Correa completing a move to San Siro – something which at the moment is reportedly far from certain as the operation has ‘slowed down’.
The report suggests that all could be unlocked ‘in the last days of the market’, and should Rodriguez instead move to Napoli it could mean Atletico Madrid stick with their current squad.
