Mohamed Simakan is the first choice target for AC Milan as they look to reinforce their defensive department, but they are running into trouble.
According to TMW there is a negotiation in progress with Strasbourg, and the Rossoneri are ready to offer €18million including bonuses with the distance between offer and demand being closed all the time.
Strasbourg have not dropped their asking price from €20m but could soon do so. The problem – as in the case of Kouadio Koné – comes from Germany, as RB Leipzig are now strongly pursuing Simakan.
The Red Bull club have matched Milan’s offer of €15m plus €3m in bonuses, and are thinking of securing the player but only for the summer as they are planning for Dayot Upamecano’s sale then.
The French club will decide but a lot will also depend on the player’s will. If Paolo Maldini were to miss out on another target then Ozan Kabak of Schalke 04 will once again be the name in focus.
