TMW: Milan want €5m as defensive outcast says yes to Galatasaray move

By Isak Möller -

Fode Ballo-Toure could leave AC Milan this summer in order to get more playing time ahead of the World Cup. Galatasaray are interested and have accelerated their pursuit, a report claims.

The left-back joined Milan last summer and it was made clear from the start that he would be the backup for Theo Hernandez. In spite of this, he perhaps got less playing time than people expected, which had to do with his poor performances.

With the World Cup coming up, the Senegalese international wants more playing time and he has thus said yes to joining Galatasaray, according to TMW. Milan have slapped a €5m price tag on Ballo-Toure, which is €800k more than they paid for him.

The negotiations between the clubs are continuing and the feeling is that an agreement will be reached soon, given the ‘yes’ of the player. It remains to be seen if Milan will replace Ballo-Toure with anyone.

  1. So are we going to go into the season without a back up for Theo, or we going to force Pioli to play either Calabria or Florenzi out of position when Theo needs a rest, serving suspension or God forbid gets injured.
What are the chances Paolo gets a back up LB in 5 days when he hasn’t been capable of bringing a back up DM and CB in 3 months

      1. “I think both will do better than Ballo ever could. I won’t miss him. He was a liability every time he came on the pitch.”

        100% facts.

      1. Try reading again.
Ballo Toure isn’t very good, but if you sell him and don’t bring a player to replace him then the defense, that is already thin numbers wise, gets even thiner.
If he leaves, Maldini will have to sign 3 players in 5 days.
A back up LB, back up CB , back up DM.

  2. I think Kalulu can play LB as well. Does anyone know if there is a decent LB in the Primavera? There was one guy who was meant to be the next big thing in that position but i think we sold him.

  3. M&M have been looking at CBs that can also cover LB, eg Ndicka or Diallo (i know both deals look dead in the water)

But it was probably preparation for this scenario, I think the management were looking to offload Ballo Toure if a club was willing to meet their asking price.

I agree the squad looks a little thin at the back but this could be our (only) chance to sell a player that’s clearly not Milan standard.

  4. I think we are all dreaming if we think Galatasaray will pay 5M for Toure lol. More like 1M if we are lucky. They gave us 1M for Duarte and we asked for like 4M? But agree that we would have no backup. As bad as Toure is we still need someone to back up Theo and don’t have the money to get anyone of quality there with our pathetic budget. we are struggling to get a DM or CB signing over the line so not sure how we would be able to sign all 3 w 5 days left in the transfer window. I assume Florenzi would just fill in or Calabria as others have said. But risky to have so little depth. IF they give us 5M for him yes we sell because he’s trash – BUT with all the games we have to play in such a short time more bodies are needed not less – very risky. We shall see what happens.
