AC Milan remain interested in a move for Lyon star Memphis Depay, a report claims, however his current club are hopeful of a renewal.

The Rossoneri have been persistently linked with a move for the Netherlands international in recent months, and TMW are reporting how the player is reaching a crossroads regarding his future at Lyon.

Their president Jean Michel-Aulas has made contact with the player’s entourage in recent weeks to pitch a new contract to the winger with a higher salary, given that the current agreement is due to expire in the summer of 2021.

Depay, however, is now blocking and postponing everything and the feeling is that his future will be decided after the match against Juventus in the Champions League at the beginning of August.

Milan’s management are big fans of Depay including incoming boss Ralf Rangnick. The 26-year-old had 14 goals in 18 games across Ligue 1 and the Champions League this season before he suffered a ligament injury, but a message was sent from the Rossoneri leadership to the player’s representatives expressing their appreciated.

He is an option for the attack, for which the priority targets currently include Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic and Roma’s Patrik Schick.
