TMW: Milan retain interest in Lecce star with Pobega a possible makeweight

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan still hold an interest in Lecce’s Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand and there is a player that could feasibly head the other way, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttomercatoweb (via Milan News), Hjulmand is very open to a move away from Lecce given he was their most consistent performer last season in Serie A.

It is believed that the Danish defensive midfielder would require a transfer fee of around €20 million. Given the many midfield targets that Milan are closing in on, the idea of buying him outright for that fee seems implausible.

A deal could still be done, though, as Lecce are thought to be very interested in Tommaso Pobega. Including the Italian in the deal would potentially halve the amount of money that Milan would have to part with.

That would probably improve the quality of the depth that Milan have in the midfield along with the new players.
