TMW: Milan to reopen talks with Verona as star winger becomes a target

By Oliver Fisher -

After completing the signing of Filippo Terracciano from Hellas Verona, AC Milan are reportedly trying to set up another negotiation with them.

The club’s official website announced earlier tonight that Terracciano has put pen to paper on a contract with Milan that will run until 2028, therefore a four-and-a-half-year deal, while he will wear the No.38 shirt.

Now, TMW are reporting that Milan have their eyes on another Verona star: Cyril Ngonge. The management are planning a meeting with their counterparts tomorrow to understand the feasibility of the operation.

Fiorentina are also keen but at the moment they seem less concretely interested than they did a few days ago, but it is possible that La Viola will resume their search to sign a forward for Vincenzo Italiano in this January transfer window.

Despite Verona’s difficulties in this championship, Ngonge has still been talked about and in the current season he has scored five goals in 18 appearances, with two assists as well.

The report concludes by mentioning that is unlikely that he will remain at Verona beyond this month with the Gialloblu in financial difficulties and with various clubs tracking him.

The 23-year-old Belgian plays predominantly as a right winger – something worth noting with Luka Romero linked with an exit while Samuel Chukwueze is at AFCON – but he can also play up front.

    1. It would take a couple of years for him to grow. Both mentally and physically. People complained how Diaz was way too easily pushed aside. Well… Romero is even weaker than Diaz was. He’s out of his league – for now.

  1. Very senseless plan is ngonge we have many players for that position….. this guy is not better than romeo, traore or even cuenca can do better at that position , the only position we need some one is attacking midfielder

    1. Not better than Romero? What are you watching? Romero is a mediocre player. He’s done nothing. I’m pretty sure he was signed with a view to being sold. Traore and Cuenca are very talented, but they’re still developing. Ngonge has done well in a poor team. If he could be signed on the cheap, then it’s a move worth making. It puts pressure on Chukeweze, who has been the biggest flop of the new players signed.

    1. Romero had good showings in pre-season. He has done nothing in real games to suggest he’s anywhere close to the first team. He is far too small to cut it in a league like Serie A. Ngone plays on the right, Traore plays on the left.

  2. If they really wanna loan out romero as professed recently in media reports then get us Berardi, him and chukwueze competing for the right wing and moving pulisic centrally or on the left wing when leao doesnt perfrom should give this team a spark.

  3. Why bring in Berardi? He has been trying for a move for three years now and no one wants him. You want more new signings to disrupt our team chemistry even more? What do you suggest we do with Okafor then? He moves to third on the depth chart behind Leao and Pulisic? Why not sign a proper DM if we are freely signing players?

    1. well i want him in milan and this arrticle is about a rtight winger so why settle for less with veronas star player, either way not gonna happen but i was also just messing around because i know we wont spend what it would demand to pull up of our pockets. He is a guarantee though for goals and assists. DM is a different discusion so no reason to mix that up with the other.

  4. Not a wise investment. This position is not a priority, even if we sell Romero. We could do with a CB and DM right now. Let’s not get carried away because of opportunities that are not urgent. As you say, it will further disrupt the chemistry by having too many players jostling for one position. Chuck deserves some time, just like so many other before him.

  5. Bring this player for a reasonable fee is an opportunity, not a necessity. Is he confirms the expectations, we can sell Chuckweze next summer if he does not adapt to the Italian championship as it seems.

  6. I am the best scout, they should sign me instead of moncada, when everybody was amazed by adams i said it will be a flop and he is proving my state 11 games without a goal,i watched him just 2 games,if i watched him more i could tell you what he had on a breakfast menu this morning,i was in shock that they even was interested in him, watching him that game he ended up in offside like 7 times in first half and didnt even try to be onside, his team mates were litterary raging on him, such an unproffesional kid
