TMW: Milan looking into cut-price deal for Sassuolo star after relegation

AC Milan are on the hunt for a new striker to come in and lead the line from next season onwards and Andrea Pinamonti has emerged as an idea, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by TMW, Milan are evaluating Pinamonti as an option for the summer. The Sassuolo striker is certainly not the first choice of the management, but he could represent an opportunity to pounce on should Luka Jovic not renew his contract.

With Sassuolo relegated to Serie B, there are likely to be big names that depart and for less than the value they might have commanded had they retained their top flight status, so Milan are watching on closely.

The Rossoneri would be one of the few clubs in Italy that are able to afford Pinamonti’s salary too given that he currently earns over €2m net per season. The 25-year-old – who scored 11 Serie A goals this season – is expected to follow Domenico Berardi and Armand Laurienté out of the exit door.

Milan are looking for someone to take over the No.9 shirt and the starting spot which will be vacated by the exit of Olivier Giroud who will join Los Angeles FC, but the first choice target remains Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna.

  1. Locca from Udinese for a backup striker, especially if they get relegated.
If they are looking at Sassuolo players on a cut price their right back Marcus Pedersen looked very good this season.

  2. We don’t have budget for a second striker; this is plan B if everything else fails. Or, even more likely, just another rumor in the rumor mill

  3. I don’t believe for a minute we are getting Sesko, Giminez or Zirkzee. The prem will mop those up for north of 60m…Jonathan David and Pinamonti would be good business for me

  4. Could be a good deal.
When I saw Sassuolo getting relegated, I immediately thought what player could we get from there.

  5. There is a guy in the fourth league from Pakistan,he is also a star.Burlani should definitelly check him out!He would come if he would buy him a ticket!

  6. Pinamonti has a 2 mill salary. I don’t think I’ve seen enough of him to think he warrants that salary or that we will have to rely on him if the main striker is injured or needs a rest of a game or two.

Furthermore, considering that he got bought for 20 mill, I don’t think that Sassuolo will let him go cheaply, especially if they value him.

    1. As much as I’d like to have Berardi, I think that right wing is already full, unless you plan not to use Pulisic as a right winger.

  7. Pinamonti is probably better suited as a backup CF than Jovic. If the new coach is going to continue to play with wingers upfront.
Which seems likely if we keep Leao.

  8. buying a player like Bajrami or Berardi could be helpful for good backup/depth in the squad in case of eventual injury because Milan players do get injured a lot could be good for the middle of the season when the injurys catches up with them

  9. Berardi, Pinamonti, Volpato, Lipani, a few there would give us good depth and good options and would be bloody good to have some Italians for once

    1. All you know is having Italians in the club than buying quality players that can help the team.

Must we have Italians in the team?, so think better instead of this rubbish you just said.

      1. Yes we need Italian playroom. It’s in the uefa rules if you want to play cl el or conf you need homegrown players in the team.. everyone knows this. More or less

  10. When you look around and see the names that we don’t mind having as backups, you have to wonder, HOW THE HELL does this team gets relegated. I meant, they’re NOT and shouldn’t be the second worst team in the league on paper.. I don’t know what went wrong with them – didn’t watch that much games this season.
