TMW: Milan want ‘another important piece’ for their midfield – €35-40m man the main target

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking for a signing of technical quality for the creative department with one stand-out target in particular, a journalist has claimed.

The well-known mercato journalist Niccolò Ceccarini spoke on the MilanNews podcast and confirmed that the Rossoneri management want to sign ‘another important piece’ for their midfield ahead of next season and a return to the Champions League.

Rodrigo De Paul today represents one of the objects of desire for Milan, but there is competition from Atletico Madrid and from teams in the Premier League. The other obstacle is represented by the fact Udinese are asking for €35-40m in order to part with their star man, after a season with 19 goal contributions.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Milan will still concretely go after De Paul if Hakan Calhanoglu were to renew his contract, but Ceccarini’s words imply Milan want to raise the quality of their midfield anyway.

  1. I wouldnt mind DePaul in Milano. He is solid and proven, he has work rate and offensive output. Seems like just what we need at AM.
But I think that 40M is way too much. For that money we should be able to get a youger talent with bigger upside.
