TMW: Newcastle stand in the way of Milan and prime striker target

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan will have to do battle with Premier League side Newcastle if they are to sign Jonathan David from Lille in the near future, a report claims.

As has been reported by TMW, Newcastle are very keen on the Canadian striker and feel that he could add important depth to the squad.

Milan have identified David as the eventual successor to Olivier Giroud as the French striker is out of contract this summer and if he does renew, it is only expected to be for one season.

It is not yet certain whether Milan will be looking to sign David in January or the summer, although given the need for defensive additions right now, the summer seems more likely.

The interference of Newcastle will be far from welcome because the Rossoneri cannot compete with them on a financial level, as shown by Sandro Tonali’s €80 million move between the two clubs in the summer of 2023.

  1. They wont be able to spend freely next year because they already overspent last summer and regressed but ofc creative Arab accounting could fix that

    1. What the actual fck am I reading here? Why does this make so much sense but for that username??? Its a Christmas miracle!! 😂😂😂

      1. They are just built different….

But the thing is clubs like United and Chelsea are able to avoid FFP is because their revenue is marginally higher than clubs like Newcastle.

      2. Wrong. Chelsea were banned from doing business for two transfer windows because of shenanigans. They are not immune. My guess is another missed European qualification and they will either have to sell players or risk another ban. The only immune clubs are Arab clubs and “Uefalona”.
