TMW: Rangnick could be joined at Milan by Paul Mitchell this summer – the background

By Oliver Fisher -

Paul Mitchell could join AC Milan along with Ralf Rangnick this summer, a report claims, as CEO Ivan Gazidis plans his revolution.

There is an abundance of speculation in the media claiming Zvonomir Boban and Paolo Maldini will depart their roles as directors in the summer due to disagreements with Gazidis, all stemming from his decision to focus on bringing in Rangnick for next season.

According to what Tuttomercatoweb are reporting (via MilanLive), Rangnick will bring some of his trusted collaborators to put together a new-look staff at Milan. Among these is, Paul Mitchell, a 38-year-old scout who has worked in clubs such as MK Dons (2008-2012), Southampton (2012-2014), Tottenham (2014-2018).

In 2018 he became Head of Recruitment and Development of Leipzig and in 2019 Technical Director of Red Bull International Soccer.

Mitchell and Rangnick know each other well and could find themselves linking up at Milan over the summer. The revolution of Gazidis will affect all areas and therefore several more changes in the managerial organisation chart are expected.
