Tomori believes Chelsea rematch is an ‘opportunity to make everything right’

Fikayo Tomori believes the return game against Chelsea at San Siro provides AC Milan with the perfect opportunity to show what they are really capable of.

It was not the best of nights for Milan at Stamford Bridge last Wednesday as Chelsea ran out 3-0 winners against the Rossoneri will goals from Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James, throwing Group E wide open.

The performance that Stefano Pioli’s men put out there was far from the level that they know they can achieve as a number of players underperformed, with Tomori among those targeted with criticism after he lost Aubameyang for the goal that made it 2-0.

However, tomorrow’s game gives the chance for some kind of revenge to be enacted, and Tomori spoke to the microphones of Sky (via MilanNews) a few minutes before the press conference on the eve of the match against Chelsea.

On the match against Juve: “It was a difficult match and after Chelsea we wanted to raise the level of performance. Now we are ready for tomorrow’s match.”

On the game against Chelsea: “Against Chelsea, it was a difficult game: they are strong and we are not happy with how we played. We have another opportunity to make everything right.”

On his return to Stamford Bridge: “Yes of course I was not happy with my performance and that of the team: we are much better. We have another opportunity to do better and we are ready and energised for tomorrow’s game.”

On the potential of Milan: “I think we are strong and every match we are there. We know that we are a strong group and also with the fans at our side. We are in a good moment, I’m happy here and matches like Chelsea and Juve are what we want to play and win.”
