CM: Tomori could unlock a January Ricci move for Milan – the details

Fikayo Tomori has been cast aside in recent weeks, but AC Milan could still get some important help from the Englishman as we approach January, according to a report.

Milan have struggled in every department recently, and there have been questions asked about every position. However, the defence and midfield have regularly been the two biggest question marks in the squad.

In central defence, the Rossoneri were left looking for a partner for Tomori, and in midfield, there has been a lack of balance. Now though, things have changed slightly. The Englishman’s ranking has fallen, and now he is often on the bench, with Paulo Fonseca preferring Matteo Gabbia and Malick Thiaw.

However, he could still prove important to the club and its future. As Calciomercato.com reports, the defender could leave the club in January, and a price of €25-30 million is possible in this mercato, and interest is present.

Should this move occur, it is possible that the Diavolo would accelerate plans to bring Samuele Ricci to the club by six months, and he could arrive in the January window, to balance the midfield. Milan are ‘increasingly inclined’ to make an attempt mid-season and a positive Supercoppa Italiana performance could make things tick.

    1. just Ricci no, but he’s one of the pieces we currently are lacking. us testing Jimenez (RB), Theo (LB) on flanks or finding someone that can play RB role without being a liability is vital.

ST can also be upgraded but midfield and that RB role are huge holes that the clown squad left us with…

    2. This season it’s already too late for a title race, it might already be too late for an UCL spot, at least with Fonseca as a coach, but we shouldn’t miss an opportunity to reinforce the squad.
IDEALLY, if we can get Ricci right now, we might revamp the management in the summer by getting rid of Moncada, Ibrahimovic and also Fonseca and get other good players like Frendrup, Kayode as a RB (if Calabria leaves) and someone like Osimhen as a ST. But that won’t happen.

  1. A smart managemen would first ask how much Torino wants for Ricci. Then start making plans about selling Tomori. Not the other way around.

  2. I think it makes no sense to send tomori away. If Gabbia and/or Thiaw were to get injured or lose their form (quite likely with Thiaw and has often happened), what shall we do? Who will play at centre back?
The more i read about milan management and ownership, the more i am disgusted by these incompetent but well paid idiots.
