Tomori lifts lid on ‘indescribable’ Scudetto emotion and highlights the key moments

AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has recalled some of the key moments in the team’s Scudetto success and revealed the target he set when he arrived.

When Tomori joined Milan back in January 2021 the team were in a title race with Inter but they unfortunately fell away a bit towards the two-third mark of the 2020-21 campaign, yet this time things couldn’t have been more different.

Not many fancied the Rossoneri to go on and win the league title this season, but they always remained close to rivals Inter and Napoli and then took advantage of the Nerazzurri’s slip-up against Bologna to win six of their last six games and secure a 19th Scudetto.

Tomori was a huge part of that, as not only did he play in almost every single game during the campaign, he also started the last 11 league matches in which the team conceded only 2 goals and kept 9 clean sheets.

He was interviewed by the Canadian channel TLN about the season, and was asked about the key moment of the season.

“I think there were a few moments. The derby game, if we lost that it could have been a bit different,” he said.

“The Lazio game for sure, Fiorentina… there’s so many moments, so many times where the momentum changed and swung. If we look back at those moments we can say we dug deep and managed to ramp everyone up.

“It’s mad, when I arrived here we wanted to win it and I could see that we had the team to do it. But to actually arrive here and actually have this trophy now is indescribable.”
