Tomori responds to ‘crazy’ idea that Milan fans could crowdfund €28m fee owed to Chelsea

Fikayo Tomori has responded to the idea that AC Milan fans are considering starting a crowdfunder to ensure the club buy him outright.

Having arrived on a loan with option to buy deal from Chelsea during the January transfer window, few could have predicted just how impressive the 23-year-old would be as he is now an established member of the starting line-up and continues to perform well in every game.

Tomori gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport about a number of topics including his time at the club so far and aims for the future, and he was asked about the idea some Milan fans are thinking of a fundraiser to keep him.

“What? Crazy. I didn’t know, but it makes me happy. My mother reads a lot of things on social media and is very proud. All this is part of a journey, but I remain realistic,” he said (via MilanNews).

The player has had a great impact since he arrived at Milanello in January, and is perfectly in line with Elliott Management’s vision of investing in young players with high potential, so it might be that the fans can keep their money in their pocket.
