Fikayo Tomori has no doubts that Rafael Leao will score the next big chance he gets after he wasted a golden chance for AC Milan against Newcastle United last night.
Milan were left frustrated by the away side on Tuesday evening as they spurned several good opportunities to take the lead against Newcastle, who had Nick Pope to thank for some smart saves as well as some heroic blocks too.
The away side had only one shot on target while the Rossoneri had nine, so it feels like two points dropped for Milan who have away trips to Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund to come next, but it was certainly a good response after the derby defeat.
Tomori spoke to Mediaset Infinity after last night’s game against Newcastle and he was asked specifically about Leao’s chance in the first half, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“Should he have been more clinical? Maybe yes, but we know his qualities well. But in these situations, especially in open matches like this, you have to score,” Tomori said.
“He knows well that he had to score in that moment. But let’s look ahead. I’m sure that on the next chance Rafa will score.”
😣 Bet Rafa wishes he had that one back
