AC Milan cut the gap to Napoli down to five points as they beat Salernitana 2-1 at the Stadio Arechi to capitalise on Spalletti’s side losing to Inter in the evening.
Milan raced out to a two-goal lead inside 15 minutes as Rafael Leao rounded the keeper and slotted in after a through ball from Sandro Tonali, then Tonali scored himself five minutes later. Though Bonazzoli got one back to make it a nervy finish, the Rossoneri held on. Below are the front pages of today’s papers…
Gazzetta dello Sport: “Tonali show with Leao: ‘Let’s defend the title’. Pioli is at -5 from the top. In Salerno the Diavolo start strong.”
Corriere dello Sport: “Leao and Tonali push Milan to -5.”
Tuttosport: “Leao and Tonali: ‘Our goals to defend the title’. #ACMilan dominate and win in Salerno. Pioli praises the Portuguese: ‘His best performance’.”
