GdS: Tonali wants to become a symbol of Milan – the management have a plan to reward him

It is thanks to Sandro Tonali that AC Milan are still in the running for the Scudetto, as he scored a very late winner against Lazio on Sunday night which stands as further proof of how much he has grown.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) recalls how Tonali – who scored the 92nd-minute winning goal in the capital – has enjoyed exponential growth this season and perhaps even the most optimistic of fans did not think he could develop so much in less than a full season.

Tonali is now one of the undisputed leaders of the team, a player who represents present and also the future of the Rossoneri, and he wants to become a symbol of the club moving forward. He was desperate to join permanently in the summer, even accepting a pay cut to make the move happen, having never hidden the fact he is a Milanista.

For this reason the management are thinking of offering him an even longer contract than the current one which expires in 2026 and while the priorities at the moment are other extensions such as Leao and Bennacer, the desire is there to recognise the development of Tonali and give him a pay rise.
