Tonali’s agent confirms imminent Newcastle move and tips Milan to go for Frattesi – video

The agent of Sandro Tonali has confirmed that his client is closing in on a move to Newcastle United, adding that he is ‘calm’ but understands the size of the opportunity.

According to Fabrizio Romano among other sources, the midfielder will join new Premier League power Newcastle United for €70m including bonuses, and Tonali will get a potential €9m net per season for six years.

Beppe Riso, Tonali’s agent, returned from the Italy U21 training camp in Romania and answered questions from journalists at Linate airport with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

Mission accomplished? “No, not yet. There’s still a little something to go, a few more days.”

Is the boy happy? “He is calm, calm because he knows that when such important things arrive from such important ownerships it is difficult to refuse.

“We have the agreement, now the clubs are defining everything. And once defined in the next few days he will do the medical tests. The boy is very calm, serene, he thinks about the national team and plans to go ahead with the national team.”

Just missing technical details? “Details between clubs, yes. There is still a little something missing, bureaucratic things. Some days…”

Is it a long contract? “Yes, six years. I am satisfied because it is a great operation. Sandro will help Milan here too in this operation, in the end it’s a lot of money for Milan too, money also for Brescia because he loves Brescia. And that’s fine.”

Perfect project for him? “Perfect, they want Sandro at all costs. Sandro will be a point of reference.”

What about Frattesi? “We have already started the meetings for Frattesi, now let’s see in these days which clubs can afford it. Then I’ll join Davide and we’ll decide.”

Has he already chosen his team? “Now I can’t say (laughs).”

Will Milan use Tonali’s money to try and sign Frattesi? “I really think yes, I think the idea is to continue and they seem very determined to me.”

Who can afford Frattesi? “Carnevali is not very simple for the figures, we see different formulas, we are working on it.”

  1. Probably Inter gets Frattesi & SMS in addition to Thuram who seems to have chosen them as well.

While I hate and despise everything about Inter I have to admit they beat us in mercatos 100-0. They buy first and then worry about the money later. Unlike certain club who haggles for CDK for the whole mercato and misses 25 once in a lifetime -deals because of that.

    1. Yes, maybe if Pioli calls him he will change his mind. Hahahahahahahaha

The club was going up and everything was pretty fine a month ago. But now, we’ll see. If top 4 is not secured, 2 out of 3 from Leao, Theo and Mike are gone next season (if Theo isn’t sold next week).
And the money is not there, the plan was to sign 2 or 3 players on free transfer. It looks like only Kamada, but I don’t believe it until I see that. If it is true that Liverpool really wants him bad, I think that might change as well…

      1. Better pick that one Rhino ACM it’s on the cards
Future agents and players know that signing with this management doesn’t assure you of any future security
        Pioli should go now!

    2. I thought the haggling was ALL Maldini’s fault??? No?? LOL. You mean the little man child, the master negotiator Furlani could not close this deal????? Shocking! Fkn disaster!.

Sadly I am not surprised. That fact he didn’t know Thuram was PLAYING us all along while negotiating with our RIVALS is telling and shows his inexperience.

NOW we will see IF REDBIRD WILL SPEND $$$ WITHOUT SELLING MORE PLAYERS TO DO IT.

This is the ultimate test. They were banking on Thuram for FREE and now that blew up in our face. Horrible. Now we may actually have to SPEND $$ on a striker – in addition to all other positions. Will they do it???? I think we may – but at a cost of a player – Theo or Mike. And then more excuses will come how we “needed” to sell to buy a striker lol. OR will they finally Dip into the 120M UCL $$$$$????

We shall see all you Redbird lovers what happens

      Should be a fun ride.

        1. We really might go back to that 34yo striker considering how this scenario goes. Can you still add that emoticon when it happens?

    3. IM have beppe marotta. He build foundation for juve squad that win 9 scudetto in row . He is good at selling player and find the replacement perfectly fit with coach style. He success sell icardi, lukaku hakimi, brozovic but none of them hurt squad power because he can find replacement. Signing onana & marcus free transfer and sell them later after their value high. With him in charge , IM never fear about debt because have player with high value

  2. He can’t say because he knows he picked Inter. If they show the money he is there. But he will get Frattesi a bit bigger wages along the way, with this Milan story. Classic agent.

Unfortunately, this all went exactly as I’ve expected. The worst possible moves they could have done were the ones that were done. Remove Maldini after he publicly said Milan needs a bigger investment, and sell Tonali who everyone knows was predicted to be a long term captain. Both of these things were done in the moment where Milan should have been presenting itself publicly as good as possible to get those players. It is really visible they are in sports and own a lot of teams, great moves.

If you think other players don’t care about that think about it again…Who will join a club that will maybe force them to move next summer?

    1. But who do you think told him that the club received an important offer from important owners? Furlani and those people. It isn’t impossible that Cardinale is securing him some deal with the Saudis, some sort of funding for his company etc. I mean those same Saudis finances Boehly and his Chelsea purchase.

        1. Impossible, part of the money is probably already from them…Who do you think investors in the Elliot fund that sold and financed part of the purchase for Rebird with a loan are?

        2. hey @nahnah,stfu you racist! you’re probably a white man preparing to shoot your nearby public school huh?

    1. Yeah, the problem is that Milan pushed for this move obviously. He literally said that Tonali is quiet on a question is he happy. You can read between the lines. Frattesi will decide for himself, he can fire his agent for something like you said…

    1. Tonali is quiet instead of happy. He does not ask Milan to accept the deal so it means Milan want the move just like his agent.

  3. No one wants to play for Milan after the shambolic performance of this management this past month. Milan is toxic rn. Wouldnt be surprised we can’t get anyone this summer and have to settle with teenagers.

    1. The problem is, whereas before we had Maldini to convince players to join, given our project – Now we don’t have that figure or anyone besides higher-ups to understand what the project really is.

This is where they messed up letting him go.

  4. Hope can inter afford purchases with the club bring in debt to the tune of 200mil??? What kind of creative accounting are they doing over there?

Trying to land Thuram & Fratesi on what money?

      1. Being able to pay for it just increases the debt and they can do this because the asset (Inter) is worth more than the debt, so there’s not massive risk to the lender because they can just take the club if the debt stops being serviced. It’s not really a sustainable strategy because at some point the lender will just take the asset back.

Which was exactly how Elliot become owners of AC Milan.

    1. All clubs do it, it is what it is. Its only some of our strange fans who seem to care about the pockets of billionnaires that own the club getting deeper rather than just wanting the players they like for the club. So weird.

      1. “. Its only some of our strange fans who seem to care about the pockets of billionnaires that own the club getting deeper”

And for some strange reason some fans think they owners can withdraw money from club’s accounts like it was their own personal money. How about that.

    2. By playing just semi final of Champions league we got 120+ million.
Inter have more price for the tickets and played the final they could have got atleast 160million.
We say that inter 300m debt but where does this money went.
      They couldn’t be 300 but between 150 to 200.
So they can still spend some this year.

      1. “We say that inter 300m debt but where does this money went.
        They couldn’t be 300 but between 150 to 200.
So they can still spend some this year.”

And their owner needs to pay back 375M€ before May. He doesn’t have the money. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next summer.

    3. They’re selling Onana for 60M€ to ManU. That’ll get them some income. But they’re still swimming (or drowning actually) in debts so this spending spree won’t make ’em go unnoticed in UEFA’s FFP-things.

Too bad the negative effects of their insane spendings will arrive years later and they can enjoy the results of their crazy spendings for a season or two. If they get Frattesi or SMS they will definitely win the scudetto this season.

  5. In summary…

Tapeworm infected Milan and took over the club.

It’s first move was to kick the icon of the club from the club along with sporting director.. Maldini and Massara.

Second move was to appoint an assistant to an accountant, Furlani, as head of the club.

It wiggled into the third move that was to declare every player is sellable when it was supposed to assure the players of ambitions to gain stability after literally insulting the one out who brought most of these players in.

the Insect’s fourth move was to sell the present ICON of the club, Tonali to whoever bid first without a second thought.

And now we are in this crossroads.. wondering why no serious player wants to play for us. This whole day was a fckd up one for a Milan fan.

I wonder, seriously.. how much Inter offered Thuram.

  6. This is disgusting: Dirty Arab money through dirty EPL, American owners and greedy agents. The beauty of the sport, values and romance is gone. I was proud for my club, AC Milan, because those values and family bonds were still alive. Not anymore. They affected the kid with their “business” plan and made him feel more useful if sold. They turned his dreams and mind upside down. Congratulations!
I’d rather a loyal soldier with his deficiencies than the mercenaries that are coming!

  7. Can’t even land free transfer. And where is Kamada? Are we going to miss another free transfer? Joke
Maldini failed to sell player and hired 34 year old striker. What we got? Scudetto.

These clowns get huge money from UCL semis and ticket sales entire season, managed to sell one of fundamental and potential growing player for Milan. And failed to secure free transfer. JOKE!!

  8. Frattesi prefer to IM because IM use 3 midfield on 352. We dont have chance to sign him unless we buy scamacca first then scamacca his best friend will persuade him to join us . It is complicated and better go for lazar or SMS

  9. Okay, then now Milan, please buy Frattesi, Kamada, Thuram, and Milinkovic Savic.

Or nothing will happen, and next season we will be out of big 4.

If management not want to splash their money, please change Pioli with De Zerbi or Atalanta manager, or Fiorentina manager. They can maximilize young and average players, not like Pioli

  10. Not surprising Thuram chose Inter. There was not a single story indicating that he prefer Milan, but all along rather considering the PSG deal. So Milan was never his 1st choice, hence the quick overnight decision to accept Inter deal. So what swayed him, it can’t be money or the fact that he will be the 1st choice with Lautaro there and Lukaku still somewhere in the wings. It must be the project and the fact that Inter keeps building a competitive team rather than stuff around with obscure unproven signings. And if Milan doesn’t make efforts to build a decent team we will keep on losing targets. Arsenal just bought Harvetz, which means Balogun is should be available. Why go for Morata who has always expressed his love for Juve, Scamacca who prefers Roma, Fratessi who wants Inter. Stop fishing in the wrong waters Mialn, we still havent signed a single player this Mercato. Go for SMS to bring back the confidence, even if it just a statement signature.

    1. “Go for SMS to bring back the confidence, even if it just a statement signature.”

It does seem SMS is the only one who could come. Inter cannot afford Frattesi AND him. Although Juve will probably sell Chiesa and with that money they can easily afford to pay Lazio the 40M€ they want for SMS. So probably we’ll only get Kamada from the rumoured players and rest are some Ligue 1-2 players no one’s ever even heard of.

  11. Every one talking about inter as much as I hate them they are far better in retaining and buying players with tons of so called debt…..barella was hushed off by inter we agreed with tonali….emotional sentiments aside our whole so called project went down drain…..out of 70 or 80 being reported some 15 to 20m will go to brescia….frattesi doesn’t even play in pioli system and will never be tonali esque player…..now once tonali sale materialise suddenly panic mode have stuck in….their attack is no where to be seen no midfield and no wingers beside leao and we still think we will go for 4th spot bare minimum next year……

  12. I see Furlani, Moncada and Redbird are in damage control mode asking the agent to stick up for them, and lie 🙂

Truth is Tonali never wanted to leave they made him leave by accepting the offer 🙂
