President Urbano Cairo has poured cold water on the idea that Diego Laxalt has virtually agreed a move to Torino.
The Uruguay international was strongly linked with a move to Atalanta, however numerous reports suggested that he was not convinced to join them and the Bergamo club ended up opting for an alternative.
The reliable Gianluca Di Marzio claimed earlier in the week (as cited by MilanNews.it) that Torino had swooped in and that they are closing in on a deal.
He stated that il Toro had struck an agreement with Milan on the basis of a loan with an option to buy.
La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s Nicolo Schira then provided another twist via his Twitter account, stating that Laxalt is not convinced by Torino either.
MilanNews.it then stated on Thursday night that a new meeting is taking place at Casa Milan between the Rossoneri management and Laxalt’s agent to iron out his future.
Now, Urbano Cairo has responded to rumours that his side are close to Laxalt.
“When they are signed I make announcements,” he told Sky Italia (via MilanNews).
“He has not yet signed anything and so I do not announce anything.”
