Transfermarkt: Milan among top five clubs for European home attendance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in the top eight European clubs at least by virtue of having reached the Champions League quarter-finals, but their attendance record is even better.

As the data from Transfermarkt shows, it is currently Barcelona who are leading the way in terms of average attendance at home games in European competitions so far this season with. arather impressive 85,988.

That is followed by two German clubs in Borussia Dortmund (78,516) and Bayern Munich (75,000 exactly), with Manchester United coming in fourth at 73,851.

Then come Milan, who are averaging 71,251 fans per European home game at San Siro this season, which is nearly a couple of thousand more than city rivals Inter who sit at 69,385.

Roma, Benfica, Atletico Madrid and Spurs (read our deep-dive into their stadium) round off the top 10, and with a home quarter-final coming up for the Rossoneri we can’t imagine that average is going to dip at all.
