Transfermarkt: Value of Milan’s squad has decreased considerably after January window

By Oliver Fisher -

The value of AC Milan’s current squad has dropped due to the 11 transactions made during the January transfer window, a report claims.

An interesting January transfer window saw five players arrive, although none of them have done so on a permanent basis. On the flip side, six players departed for what could become a total saving of €80m, with many assuming the club are clearing the decks ahead of the summer.

According to the latest estimates from Transfermarkt (via MilanNews.it), the squad is now worth 13% less as a total sum of market value compared to before the winter transfer market opened.

The departures of Suso, Krzysztof Piatek and Ricardo Rodriguez will have no doubt influenced this given that only Alexis Saelemaekers arrived as cover down the right side.

Meanwhile, a report from MilanNews.it has detailed how – given contract situations and other factors – Milan’s squad size could decrease to 18 by June.
