Official: Turpin will officiate Spurs-Milan – the precedents for both teams

By Oliver Fisher -

UEFA have officially appointed Clément Turpin as the referee for the match scheduled for Wednesday night in London between Tottenham and AC Milan.

As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it write, the French referee Turpin will officiate the second leg of the round of 16 tie in the Champions League between Tottenham and Milan. To assist him will be Danos and Pages as the linesmen, the fourth official will be Pignard while in the VAR room Hernandez will be the chief and Delajod his deputy.

Milan have two precedents involving Turpin: the 2-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Europa League in 2018 and the draw against Porto in the group stage of last season’s Champions League.

Meanwhile, there have been three matches officiated by the French referee with Tottenham on the field and only one win: against Dortmund in 2017. The other two were defeats, one of which was against Inter (2018) and the other a 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in 2019.
