Lyon are still very much keen on signing Lucas Paqueta from AC Milan before the window closes but they need to sell players first, a report claims.
There has been intense speculation over the last few days now that Paqueta’s future is away from the San Siro with Lyon sporting director and compatriot Juninho ready to offer him an escape route following a difficult second season in Milan.
According to Friday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Ligue 1 club must first raise some funds to be able to pay the €23m asking price that Milan are demanding for the Brazilian.
The possible sale of Houssem Aouar to Arsenal would give Lyon the economic liquidity to be able to put a €23m offer on the table. In the meantime, Juninho has already communicated to Lyon president Aulas that Paquetà is the name he wants to focus on in this transfer window.
