Tuttosport: Bennacer’s big return almost here – he will start from the bench

By Oliver Fisher -

The big return is almost here. Ismael Bennacer is expected to be called up for tomorrow night’s game against Frosinone and he could even get some playing time, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Bennacer has been training with the rest of his team-mates for over two weeks and now the time has come to return to the disposal of head coach Stefano Pioli.

In a difficult moment full of injuries in various moments (although, ironically, not in the midfield department) he at least has a reason to smile a little. Bennacer has not played an official match for 205 days, since 10 May 2023, when he injured his knee around the quarter of an hour of the first of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter.

The operation on the cartilage of his right knee – which came a few days later – went well, as did his entire post-operative journey. He followed the rehabilitation to the letter, which occurred without any hitches.

Today Bennacer is ready and can’t wait to get back on the pitch. Coach Pioli will have to decide whether to call on his services, given that he has around 20-25 minutes in his legs at most.

  1. I really want to see Benna plays with Reijnders, RLC, and Musah. Make it 4-1-1.

    Mike
    Calabria/Thiaw/Tomori/Theo
    Musah/Benna/RLC/Reijnders
    Pulisic
    Giroud/Leao

The key for better defense and attacking is strong midfield. Sadly tomorrow there will be no Thiaw and Leao 😔
