Mattia Caldara is closing in on his long-awaited return to the first team fold at AC Milan, according to a report.
Caldara joined the Rossoneri from Juventus in a swap deal with Leonardo Bonucci last summer, but has had a torrid time with injuries so far.
The most serious one he sustained wasback on April 24th in the Coppa Italia against Lazio, when he ruptured the cruciate ligament of his left knee.
A report from Calciomercato.com in August claimed that Caldara would be back in action in October at the earliest, but that the medical staff were being understandably cautious.
The outlet also stated that there are no doubts regarding the vision for Caldara’s future from the Milan leadership: they see him as the long-term partner for Alessio Romagnoli.
An update from Tuttosport (via Calciomercato) has now confirmed that the 24-year-old will be back training with his fellow team-mates in the middle of October.
