Tuttosport: Chelsea’s €35m demands the main obstacle as midfielder pushes for Milan move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to secure a return for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko sooner rather than later, according to a report.

As Tuttosport notes on Thursday (via MilanNews), Bakayoko made everyone aware that he wants to return to Milan during an interview with TMW on Wednesday: “Everyone knows that Milan is in my heart and I have excellent memories. At the moment I am a Chelsea player, then in football we will see.”

The Rossoneri are looking for reinforcements in the middle of the park and would gladly take him back, but there is a big obstacle to overcome.

The paper states that Chelsea are asking for €35million to try and secure a big gain on the balance sheet, an exaggerated figure that Milan have no intention of spending.

Instead, Paolo Maldini and co. only want to spend a maximum of €20m on transfer fee to bring him back. In terms of salary there is no problem, as the Frenchman earns about €3.5m net per season and, in order to return to Milan, he would also be willing to reduce that to €3m plus bonuses.

The main issue to be solved therefore remains to find an agreement with Chelsea.
