One of the biggest doubts at Milan concerns the future of Paolo Maldini, the current technical director of the Rossoneri.
According to Tuttosport on Sunday (via MilanLive), the former Milan captain is getting closer and closer to saying goodbye at the end of the season, especially if Ralf Rangnick arrives and gets his wish of full control over both the coaching duties and the transfer market.
This would constitute an impossible coexistence between Maldini and Rangnick – not so much because of ideas, but more for the contradictions on internal powers.
Rangnick as mentioned wants to personally manage the market and the scouting area, so quite simply put there would be nothing left for Maldini to do apart from ambassadorial duties.
CEO Ivan Gazidis wants Maldini to stay as he is considered a symbol of the club, but he would not accept this if it were to simply be a supporting role, so his farewell is therefore more and more likely.
