Tuttosport: Donnarumma will be Milan’s first sale in January; player wants out

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma reportedly believes it no longer makes sense to stay at the club as they are stopping him from achieving his goals.

There was to be no early Christmas present for Stefano Pioli and the Rossoneri as they were comprehensively thrashed 5-0 by Atalanta on Sunday, ending the year on a very bitter note indeed.

Among the most striking images from after the game though was the sight of Donnarumma almost in tears following the defeat, a sign of just how much pain certain players felt through such a disastrous afternoon.

According to Monday’s edition of Tuttosport – as cited by MilanNews.it – Gigio was meant to be one of the key foundations to help spark Milan’s revival, but instead his future now looks different.

The paper makes the bold claim that he will be the first departure of the January window, as the 20-year-old knows that it no longer makes sense to remain in a team which prevents him from achieving his more ambitious goals.
