Tuttosport: €240m spent – three years later Milan are ready to cut adrift from Chinese era

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are almost ready to cut themselves adrift of the Chinese era in the 2017-18 season with three more sales this summer, a report claims.

As Tuttosport reports on Monday (via MilanLive), Massimiliano Mirabelli and Marco Fassone were in charge of an extravagant market back in summer 2017 which saw an investment of €240million on 12 players.

Leonardo Bonucci, Mateo Musacchio, Frank Kessie, André Silva, Andrea Conti, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ricardo Rodriguez, Lucas Biglia, Fabio Borini and Nikola Kalinic all arrived as well as free agents Pepe Reina and Ivan Strinic.

Now the intent is to close that particular circle, the paper claims, and in order to do so Musacchio, Conti and Kessie could all be sold this summer – with only Calhanoglu set to remain.

Musacchio has never really hit the level of consistency expected, while Conti has been inconsistent and has struggled with injuries. Kessie, on the other hand, has only remained to this point because a suitable offer has not yet arrived.
