Alessandro Florenzi is expected to be given the left-back role against Juventus when the international break comes to an end, a report claims.
As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Italian full-back is going to be used on the opposite flank to usual when Milan host the Bianconeri in what is a huge game.
Theo Hernandez received a yellow card against Genoa which means that he will be suspended for the Juventus match. It does mean that he will be cleared to play against Napoli in the following Serie A match.
With no natural senior leftback in the squad to take his place, Stefano Pioli’s primary choices are Florenzi as a left-back or the young Davide Bartesaghi who has only made one appearance this season.
In a game of this magnitude, it is not a surprise that Pioli will favour the experience of Florenzi rather than the young Bartesaghi.

Is it possible you don’t know football? Except for the 5-1 drubbing by Pioli kryptonite Inzaghi were also not letting in many goals. That was the whole point of switching to 4-3-3. Defensive solidity. It’s working. We have two consecutive clean sheets in the so called “Group of Death” in the CL. We are 7-0-1 in the league. Theo is a defender. His first duty is to defend, not score 10 goals per season. For the purpose of scoring goals we brought in 4 attackers in the summer. The issue isn’t chance creation, it’s finishing. See the numerous occasions Chukwueze and Reijnders flub. It’s Leao continuously running into defenders. It’s 37 year old Giroud with little left in the tank.
Logical choice. Using Bartesaghi who have very little experiences against players like Chiesa or Vlahovic is just suicide.
Or not. But we will never know until someone is breaking something and we have no choice. Have faith in young players! Try Simic on the right for instance and you will be amazed.
