Tuttosport: Florenzi enters final phase of his recovery – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Alessandro Florenzi has been out with an injury since AC Milan’s game against Sassuolo back in August. While the versatile right-back still needs some time to fully recover, he’s now entering the final phase.

The 31-year-old veteran has been missed at times this season as the likes of Davide Calabria and Sergino Dest have struggled to perform consistently. Unfortunately, he has had too many serious injuries throughout his career.

According to Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.com), Florenzi still isn’t ready to return fully to training but, on the plus side, he’s now entering the final phase of his recovery. He might be back sometime in March, therefore.

Up until then, Davide Calabria and Alexis Saelemaekers will have to battle it out for the wing-back spots in Milan’s 3-4-3/3-5-2 formation. It’s a position that most likely would have suited Florenzi, given his attacking qualities, and it’s also why Saelemaekers is the favourite currently.

  1. There are too many expensive and unusable players like: Dest, Origi, Bakayoko, and many injured one.
There are so many blindspots in Milan squad that with quality reconstruction this team can be upgraded by 30%.
Now imagine just 3 primavera players instead of Dest, Origi, and Bakayoko, and use them same amount of minutes but
in same time, instead sum of Dest, Origi and Bakayoko salaries which exceeds 15 million of gross, bring 1 or 2 quality player or extend current good players contract.
