Tuttosport: Hauge declares his desire to fight for a spot at Milan despite counterpart rumours

By Oliver Fisher -

Winger Jens Petter Hauge has decided that he wants to stay at Milan and fight for his place in the squad, according to a report.

Hauge joined Milan from Bodo/Glimt last season and enjoyed a very positive start to life with the Rossoneri, but in the second half of the season he struggled for playing time and was even excluded from the squad for the Europa League knockout stages despite being the top scorer in the competition at that point.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) notes how during the first talks with Udinese for playmaker Rodrigo De Paul, Milan offers Hauge – a profile particularly appreciated by the Friulians – as a possible counterpart with a valuation of around €15m. The Norwegian could end up on the market, but the paper claims that Hauge has declared that he wanted to stay and continue to do well with the Rossoneri, and to fight for a spot.

    1. Not totally convinced that selling Leao is the best move to keep JPH. I think there are other players not pulling their weight that could be more beneficial to cut ties with, (namely Tonali, who has raised more red flags this past season than Leao for me.)
Though, I can definitely see selling almost any player with a questionable future as reasonable if that actually opens a door for JPH to get a fighting chance to develop.

  1. Maybe we can ask JPH to play in right wing, just like the case with Dalot this season…

Remember that Paolo Maldini is forced to become lefties during his early career just to secure his spot in starting XI..

There is one thing for sure, Hauge shall not leave Milan. And he should be developed at all cost. He is too good to be left out.

  2. No to selling of talented kids,it’s the old whom must be sold out of the team and not the young ones, they need to keep both and if possible dry loan them to teams they will play always to get them on their heels
