Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic to decide on future as Sweden offer a role

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future after retiring from football remains up in the air but it seems a return to Sweden is one of the options on the table, a report claims.

As Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) writes this morning, one of the ideas touted is that Ibrahimovic could return to Milan in a sort of first team manager role, providing the link between the squad and the management.

However, Sweden would like to offer him a role too and it would be a very similar position to the one identified by Milan, namely acting as an overseer of the group.

The Swedish team manager Stefan Pettersson basically confirmed it, stating: “We haven’t spoken to Zlatan yet. We first want to understand from him what he intends to do. He told us that we will deal with the matter later.

“Our idea is to be able to use his experience as a champion. We will try to find an assignment that fits his profile,” he said.

What filters from Milan at the moment is denials about the notion a role has been offered to the Swede, but it feels like it will be the 41-year-old to decide which path to take for his career.

  1. The story that Milan will offer him something is not happening. Ibra is not a fit for this Milan crew, he is straightforward and always says what he thinks. It would end with him high kicking Cardinale or some other genius.
