There will be a sort of management relay between the Venezia and Liverpool games, as Gerry Cardinale has left Italy and Zlatan Ibrahmovic has landed.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) explains this morning, the RedBird Capital founder attended the 4-0 win against Venezia at San Siro on Saturday night and he left yesterday, while the Swede – after two weeks of absence – returned to the country and will be at Milanello today.

He will remain close to Paulo Fonseca’s team in view of tomorrow night’s Champions League debut against Liverpool at San Siro tomorrow night, one of the classic European ties that is sure to draw eyes from all over the world.

Despite being away, Ibrahimovic has maintained a direct line with the Portuguese coach and even after the big win against Venezia there was contact between the two to comment on the first victory of the 2024-25 campaign.

Ibra’s absence has made quite a noise in the last two weeks, especially due to the difficult and disappointing start to the season of Milan who – before the thrashing of the Venetians – had obtained just two points in the first three games.

Now Zlatan is back and his presence alongside the coach and the entire squad will certainly be fundamental, because after Liverpool comes Inter (Sunday). There is some confidence in the group again after scoring four times and keeping a clean sheet, but the positive signs must continue.
