Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic ready for first start – management look for assurances ahead of January

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic should make his first start of the season tonight during AC Milan’s trip to Bologna, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the time has come for Ibrahimovic as the Swede should start from the first minute against Bologna. For him it would be the first time this season after his return from various different physical problems that have plagued him.

It is not only a landmark of sorts for Ibrahimovic, but it is also an exercise during which the coaching staff and the management will see if the 40-year-old can be relied on over the next few months or if  it will be necessary to intervene with a signing in January.

In his first league appearance of the season, Ibra scored a goal against Lazio and in his second he was part of the comeback win against Verona, but now Ibra will have to reactivate the engine from minute one.

His contribution is still fundamental, and even though the team have learned to play and win without Ibra, his presence is a huge boost.
