Tuttosport: Kjaer’s muscle problem nothing to worry about as defender targets derby return

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be hoping to have centre-back Simon Kjaer back as soon as possible and the player has a target in mind, according to a report.

The Danish international went off during the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia against Inter as he limped off with a muscle problem, replaced by Fikayo Tomori who made his debut for the club.

As this morning’s edition of Tuttosport reports (via MilanNews), the thigh problem Kjaer has sustained nothing serious, but the fact it is another issue means it will force him to stay out for a few days.

However, the former Sevilla man will be able to recover calmly given the positive impact of Tomori and also given that Matteo Gabbia has finally returned to training with the rest of the group.

As Tuttosport explains, Kjaer’s target is to return for the derby in Serie A against Inter of February 21, so until then Tomori is likely to get a run of games.
