AC Milan are closing in on their first signing of the summer with Divock Origi preparing to undergo his medical, according to a report.
According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Origi’s arrival on a free transfer is practically done. The Belgian will not sign a new contract with the Premier League giants and wants to try a new experience in a new country and a new league.
The former Lille and Wolfsburg forward should land in Milano after the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid on May 28 in Paris to carry out the routine medical examinations before signing for the Rossoneri.
The paper goes on to confirm that the terms agreed between the Milan management and the entourage of Origi are a four-year contract worth €3.5m net per season plus bonuses, therefore a deal worth €14m in total, which would be around €21m in gross amount.
welcome to milan
Good signing, I think he’s going to surprise many. The competition for minutes in the attack department at Liverpool could be the hardest in Europe, no forward in Serie A, not even Lautaro or Vlahovic would have a lot more minutes than Origi with Luis Díaz, Salah, Jota, Firmino and Mane playing there, even Firmino himself, who would be a starter and key player in any Serie A team has barely got playing time this season. Maybe Origi won’t give us 20+ goals per season but he’s going to be very important.
