Tuttosport: Maldini will try until the end for De Ketelaere – he is the perfect profile

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been in talks with Club Brugge for weeks over Charles De Ketelaere, but there is still no agreement over a transfer fee.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that Milan are looking for an answer one way or another by Wednesday at the latest, but Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will try until the last second because they really believe he is the perfect profile.

They thing the 21-year-old forward has enormous quality and potential, but also a flexibility that makes him perfect for Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1. The Belgian could cover various roles across the attack including the No.10 and right wing roles, which are desperately in need of reinforcement.

In addition, having someone like De Ketelaere in the squad could also allow Pioli to change formation and use a 4-3-3 if needed, with the Belgian as the right winger or even as a false nine. This adaptability in addition to his age, experience and room for growth make him the perfect profile.

  1. Then just give them the money since It’s not more than 5 millions euro in difference. Sure we can find alternatives for CDK but it will take time and it’s near the end of mercato. Football is a business and we should expect this kind of bidding war will likely happen for our targets in the future.

  2. Can we just organize crowdfunding and collect the rest of the money? Probably AC Milan fan army could also spend a couple of bucks each and make Berardi/Ziyech/Whoever transfer possible.

  3. The €5 Mio gap between what Club Brugge expect and Milan’s latest offer weighs up … 0.38% of Milan’s value. Haggling for a few penny is just ridiculous … and risky.
