Tuttosport: Milan confident as Kalulu renewal is in final phase – the latest

By Isak Möller -

After completing the renewals of Rade Krunic and Sandro Tonali, AC Milan are still working hard on that front and the next player in line seems to be Pierre Kalulu. The centre-back certainly deserves a pay rise.

When Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli got injured last season, Kalulu stepped up and performed on a very high level. In fact, he ended up climbing to the top of the pecking order, starting the final games alongside Fikayo Tomori.

He has been a starter this season as well and although his outing against Salzburg wasn’t his best, there’s no doubt that he’s a player for the present and the future. According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), a renewal will soon be completed.

The parties are down to the final details and they want to continue together, with a pay rise on the cards for Kalulu. He currently earns just €500k per year and it’s been reported that it will be tripled, taking the total to €1.5m per year.

  1. Good news if true, he was a very important cog in the title winning team and if he can keep that level for the coming years what a gem he is. Arguably the most symbolic player of the ‘new’ Milan, a triumph for the scouting and coaching departments, as well as the player himself of course.
