Tuttosport: Milan consider signing an alter-ego for Ibrahimovic – a Scudetto statement

By Oliver Fisher -

The eventual arrival of Mario Mandzukic at AC Milan would have a very important meaning, according to today’s edition of Tuttosport.

The paper (via MilanNews) reports that the fact Milan are seriously thinking about signing the Croatian striker is proof that they are starting to think for real about a Scudetto challenge. There are ongoing reflections in the offices of Casa Milan, the more the hours pass, the more the chances of seeing the former Bayern Munich and Juventus arrive grow.

Signing Mandzukic does not mean just signing a centre-forward, but a striker who really is a deputy to Ibrahimovic. He is a very experienced player and a serial winner, with a strong personality and with a great desire to do his best. He would not just be Ibra’s back-up, he would be his alter ego.

Milan are still in the running on all three fronts (league, Coppa Italia and Europa League) and therefore risk more injuries for Ibrahimovic given he is 39. Having someone like Mandzukic at Pioli’s disposal could really be the right card to fight to the end in all competitions.
