Tuttosport: Milan could sell Primavera product to fund €20m right-back move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to move for Lille defender Mehmet Zeki Celik if Davide Calabria leaves in January, according to a report.

Milan have struggled for consistency in the right-back position so far this season, with Calabria having already been suspended twice while Andrea Conti had struggled for form, though the latter was impressive against Juventus at the weekend.

Calciomercato.com recently reported that Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban are ready to ‘intervene’ in January to resolve the Rossoneri’s ‘problem’ in that position.

The same outlet (citing Mercato365) then carried a report stating that Milan have discovered the asking price for one of their targets in Mehmet Celik is €20m.

Thursday’s edition of Tuttosport – as cited by MilanNews.it – claims that Calabria could leave the Rossoneri during the winter transfer window.

The sale of the former Primavera star – most likely to Spain – would produce a capital gain with which Milan could use some towards his replacement, which the report names as Celik.
