Tuttosport: Milan defender makes stance clear regarding future – it depends on one factor

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Mateo Musacchio wants to stay and sign a new deal at the club with his current one set to expire in a year, a report claims.

Musacchio has fallen down the pecking order in recent months which has seen his playing time decrease, and the player’s agent recently gave a lengthy interview during which he expressed frustration at the Rossoneri’s treatment of his client.

Our mercato expert Vito Angele told us that Sevilla and Valencia are keen on Musacchio, with Milan valuing the 29-year-old at around €6million, with some Spanish sides interested.

Over the weekend, the player’s agent revealed he has held talks with technical director Paolo Maldini and received ‘positive indications’ regarding a potential new deal.

According to Monday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Argentine defender is absolutely clear about one thing regarding his future: he wants to stay with Milan.

He also wishes to renew his contract that expires in 2021 sooner rather than later, but the final decision comes down to the new manager, be that Ralf Rangnick or another profile.
