As highlighted by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive), two players in particular were underwhelming, namely Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao. Milan have high hopes for the duo and they must improve before the season starts.
Diaz lacked the physicality to beat the Nice midfielders that were constantly pressing him, resulting in several lost balls. It also meant that his touches made little difference for the Rossoneri, which is the opposite of what they need from their No.10.
As for Leao, he often drifted wide in an attempt to create something, but almost always failed. He perhaps could have got a penalty for a good move, but other than that he was very disappointing indeed. In short, he must improve.
