Tuttosport: Milan plotting to finally fix striker issue – the five targets

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan management are aware that the striker role needs addressing and they could make a move as early as January, a report claims.

Milan pursued a new striker all summer and in the end it was Luka Jovic who arrived just before the deadline, but he is so far yet to make any kind of meaningful contribution.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), one of the names that Milan tried for in the summer was Mehdi Taremi but everything fell through due to some commissions that his agents requested at the last second but.

Despite this, Taremi has not yet renewed his contract which will expire at the end of the season and thus he could be an idea for January. If the situation were to remain the same in the next two months at Milan, with Jovic not suitable to be Giroud’s deputy, Milan could move on the market with Taremi a feasible name.

However, there are some obstacles to overcome, one of which is the probable passage into the Champions League knockout stages by Porto who are then unlikely to sell one of their stars mid season.

In addition to Taremi – who also remains an option for next summer if he does not renew his contract with Porto – the Rossoneri management are already drawing up a list of possible candidates.

For now there are four names that are stronger and more attractive than others and the most popular one is undoubtedly Jonathan David. There could also be an approach for him in January but the French club will not make discounts and seems to be ready to ask for no less than €50m.

The other profiles that are tempting are that of Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig, Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna and Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord.

  1. Gimenez or Sesko but I think it’s too late for both of them, price are very high. Last summer would have been the opportunity to take them.
Taremi is to old and seems to be declining in form, only one goal this season at Porto
Jonathan David doesn’t convince me, half of his goals are from penalties .
Zirkzee, absolutely not, it’s not a marker.

  2. Yes Ivan pavlidis will be the better striker for us, we need aggressive striker with nechnique like him pls Milan 🔴⚫ get him

  3. There is a French-born 27-year-old striker in Stuttgart with 15 goals in his last 9 games (yes and not the other way around). Several sources are reporting a 17.5 million release clause.

His name is Serhou Guirassy. Does anyone at Sempre Milan know if we are looking at him?

  4. One of the problems, the main one, is Pioli. He sticks with one system regardless of the opponents. He didn’t push hard for a new striker because he feels comfortable with Giroud who’s getting old and not what Milan needs for now. And Pioli takes too long to glue new players with old ones in his system

  5. No to zirkzee sesko is too expensive gimenez might be good I’ll add Jonathan David gift Emmanuel Orban vaggelis pavlidis

  6. Taremi made ambitious requests then. He will make them now too especially since there won’t be much of a transfer fee. AND Inter is interested. So Taremi will bank on as much as he can get.
